DUO#ColorControl® Farbkühlung – Stabile Farbtemperatur für reproduzierbare Druckqualität

Fast and consistent temperature control of water-based inks reduces viscosity fluctuations, prevents amine loss and sustainably stabilizes your printing processes.

Why Is Ink Temperature So Critical?

DUO#ColorControl® color cooling precisely stabilizes the color temperature within the optimal range, thereby laying the foundation for a reproducible and cost-effective printing process.

Functional Principle of DUO#ColorControl® Ink Cooling

DUO#ColorControl® Ink Cooling operates with a closed ink circulation system and a high-performance cold-water heat exchanger. The ink is continuously passed through a double-walled heat exchanger and rapidly cooled to the defined target temperature.
A dedicated ink circuit with an integrated pump ensures that the temperature remains stable throughout the entire production run. The system can be integrated into the existing ink circulation of the printing press and operates fully automatically without additional operator effort.
Typically, the target temperature of approximately 20–21 °C (68–70 °F) is reached within minutes and maintained consistently. As a result, the ink mixture remains stable and process-related fluctuations are significantly reduced.

Benefits of DUO#ColorControl® Color Cooling

With DUO#ColorControl® Ink Cooling, you stabilize the most influential parameter in the ink process and create reproducible printing conditions.

  • Stable ink temperature throughout production
  • Reduced evaporation of volatile ink components
  • Consistent viscosity and improved ink transfer
  • Significantly fewer plate cleaning cycles
  • Increased machine availability
  • Rapid achievement of target temperature
  • Easy integration into existing print units

By precisely controlling ink temperature, you improve process stability and print quality while reducing maintenance effort.

Typical Applications

DUO#ColorControl® Ink Cooling is used wherever water-based inks must be processed under stable temperature conditions.

Typical applications include:

  • Flexographic printing on corrugated board
  • Post-print applications
  • Long CMYK production runs
  • High-speed printing processes
  • Applications with elevated temperature build-up in the ink system

Especially during extended production runs, ink cooling plays a crucial role in stabilizing the entire printing process.
